Mother’s Day is a very tough day for me. I know I’m not alone in feeling this way and the day can be very challenging for many people. I love what the day signifies and how it makes us take a moment to be thankful for everything our Mums have done and continue to do for us. Big shout out here to my own Mum Linda who is my rock.
Whilst I watched my amazing Lola smash her longest run ever…. 21 miles with the Tracksmith Crew along the River Thames covering Battersea, Wandsworth, Barnes, Hammersmith and Kensington…… I was able to take some time to reflect on my role as a Mum and think about my two beautiful daughters.

Seeing her run and improve week on week fills me with the utmost pride. The happiness on her face both during the run and at the finish was simply the best Mother’s Day present I could have had.
On a personal level I’ve been struggling with an achilles injury and haven’t been able to run for 3 weeks, something I have found extremely difficult and frustrating. However, I was given the go ahead to test it out on Sunday which was perfect timing considering how much running helps me both mentally and emotionally, particularly on a day like Mother’s Day. It felt great to be back running, although I do have to take it easy and gradually build up the mileage again. It gave me the boost I needed to start to believe.….. London Marathon we are on our way!!!!!
